What You Will Be Doing
- Reviewing aerospace customer RFQs, specifications, and statements of work to determine technical and commercial requirements.
- Developing complete proposal packages including cycle‑time studies, machine tool configurations, fixture/workholding concepts, and tooling strategies for aerospace materials.
- Preparing detailed cost summaries for machines, automation, tooling, fixtures, and services using ERP tools.
- Supporting Sales with technical descriptions, compliance matrices, layouts, and customer‑facing proposal presentations.
- Coordinating with internal engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and global affiliates to ensure proposals meet aerospace standards and expectations.
What We Need From You
To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:
- 5 years of experience with machine tools, manufacturing systems, or automation — ideally supporting aerospace or high‑precision manufacturing.
- Background as an Application Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Proposal Engineer in a technical, customer‑facing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret 2D/3D drawings, GD&T, and engineering specifications.
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM platforms such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or similar.
- Solid understanding of machining processes, precision components, and manufacturing workflows.
All‑Star Skillset
The ideal candidate will also have any or all of the following preferred experience and skills:
- Experience supporting aerospace customers or working within aerospace manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and regulatory requirements (AS9100, NADCAP, customer audits).
- Knowledge of machining strategies for aerospace materials such as aluminum alloys, titanium, Inconel, and composites.
- Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, documentation quality, and deadline discipline.
