What You’ll Do
- Lead all Material Planning & Logistics activities for a high-volume automotive manufacturing operation
- Direct inbound and outbound logistics in a fast-paced JIT/JIS environment
- Ensure materials are available to production while maintaining strong inventory control
- Manage customer releases, EDI, MRP activity, and changing production requirements
- Lead material planners, logistics coordinators, warehouse personnel, and shipping/receiving functions
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and hold suppliers accountable to customer and plant expectations
- Reduce premium freight through better planning, communication, and constraint management
- Manage inventory levels, cycle counting, safety stock, and material accuracy
- Support engineering changes, launches, phase-outs, and obsolescence planning
- Drive improvements in material flow, Kanban systems, warehouse layout, packaging, and logistics efficiency
- Partner closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, Engineering, and Customer Service
- Maintain compliance with plant safety, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 requirements
What We Need
- 5 years of progressive Materials, Supply Chain, or Logistics leadership experience
- Strong Tier 1 automotive manufacturing experience
- Deep understanding of JIT/JIS environments and automotive customer requirements
- Experience managing high-pressure materials situations without losing focus or urgency
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to hold teams, suppliers, and partners accountable
- Someone who is confident, resilient, and comfortable making decisions when things do not go according to plan
- Strong ERP/MRP experience with systems such as SAP, Plex, QAD, or similar
- Experience with EDI, customer portals, inventory control, logistics planning, and freight management
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred
- APICS certification, CPIM/CSCP, or Six Sigma experience is a plus
