Activities Assistant
St. Luke Lutheran Community is seeking a caring and professional Activities Assistant (Resident Life Assistant) at our beautiful North Canton Campus.
Activities Assistant Schedule (Full-time/Days):
9:00AM-5:30PM / 5 days a week (every other weekend/every other holiday required)
Activities Assistant Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and maintaining an activities schedule for residents that include various meaningful and inclusive activities for resident participation
Assure all needed supplies are available to perform duties and activities as well as used in an efficient manner
Participate in discharge planning, development, and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments
Assure that all activity progress notes charted are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the resident's response to the service (this includes the initial activity assessment, care plan, progress summary, admissions, readmissions, discharges, interdisciplinary notes, and activities log)
Operate facility vehicles in order to transport residents to various functions and outings in accordance with state and local laws
Encourage residents to participate in activities
Supervise and teach activities to residents on an individual or group basis
Prepare/assist in the preparation of the monthly calendar and newsletter
Assist in developing preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the activity needs and goals of each resident/review and revise the plan of care as necessary or scheduled
May arrange for sale of articles made by residents
Requirements:
Prior experience in an Activities Assistant, therapeutic recreation, or similar role (highly preferred)
Prior experience in Long-Term Care (highly preferred)
Must be able to relay information concerning a resident's condition to the appropriate parties
Must be able to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds from a standing or squatting position
