What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lunchroom Administrator position at St. John’s Lutheran School?
Responsible to: Principal, as well as the Church and School Business Administrator.Responsibilities & Administrative Duties Commits to our mission and vision of the Church and School. Administers personnel policies and evaluations of personnel. Administers long-term planning of food service personnel requirements. Administers the National School Lunch Program (NLSP).
Coordinates central storage operations, including record keeping, distribution, inventory,and commodities. Develops proper methods for receiving, storage, and distributing food supplies andinventory control. Coordinates review and evaluation of requests for purchases of new and replacementequipment with the Head Cook. Coordinates the development and implementation of department training programs.
Provides all new employees, including substitutes, with adequate orientation and isresponsible for in-service to all food service personnel.Financial & Bookkeeping Duties Prepares a budget and financial planning with the Principal. Makes applications for NLSP school cafeteria use and distributes the transfer of thesame. Prepares records and reports, including the financial accounts for the food serviceoperation, making applications for all government foods and preparing an inventory ofgovernment commodities. Handles government paperwork, including opening and closing the school year.
Bills students and adults for purchased lunches. Makes bank deposits. Pays distributors' invoices. Types and distributes lunch menus, class lists for teachers to track purchased lunches,and lunch count slips for teachers.
Coordinates day-to-day processing and the computerized system with the school incoordination of payment. Maintains the computerized program, incorporating governmental revisions as theyoccur. Coordinates the bidding process, management of contracts, and the development andadministration of product bids and service. Promotes the food service program to the community, staff, students, and their families.
Participates in professional meetings relative to the food service program. Performs such other tasks as from time-to-time may be assigned by the Principal.Technology Skills & Physical Demands Technology Skills: Basic computer skills preferred. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyrequired to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Theemployee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee mustfrequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50pounds.Qualifications & Conditions of Employment Qualifications: Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or Graduate EquivalentDegree (GED) and be at least 18 years of age or follow the requirements of statelicensing. Maintain Required training and certifications for state/federal background checks andSt. Johns standards. Salary: Commensurate with experience (Bookkeeper specific duties note acompensation of $250 monthly for 9 months).
