What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cook position at St. Croix Casino?
Wednesday-Sunday 2pm-10pm and 3pm-11pm Fri & Sat
JOB SUMMARY: As a Prep Cook, you will help prepare and provide quality food with excellent presentation to every guest.
QUALIFICATIONS: Native American preference. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous kitchen experience with advanced skills preferred. Ability to follow recipes. Ability to extend recipes. Organizational skills with a basic working knowledge of math. Must be certified according to the guidelines of the State of Wisconsin.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Ability to stand, bends, and walk for an eight (8) hour shift or more. Must be able to tolerate excessive heat generated by the kitchen. . Must be able to work around standard chemicals and compounds common within the food service industry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Check with supervisor for special instructions. Communicate with previous shift for status of all items in station. Gather and check for quality of all food items required for service period. Prep products for service of future use. Properly store and rotate all products. Report any problems to supervisor. Assist in setting up and maintaining work areas. Assist in handling any concerns and questions from guests and dining room staff. Use proper sanitation practices and maintain clean work area.
Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the position, adhere to and enforce all departmental and company policies, and attend all mandatory training. Must comply with and enforce all safety policies and rules.
