What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem Pathologist position at St. Barnabas?
Department of Pathology is seeking a per diem board certified or board eligible Anatomy/Clinical Pathologist to join our department. Ideal candidate need to have excellent general surgical pathology diagnostic, communication skills, and the desire to work as a team. The candidate should have the ability to work independently and interact with clinicians, administrators and laboratory staff. This position present an opportunity to work in a collegial environment with exposure to diverse inpatient and outpatient clinical material.
We are a level II trauma center and accredited as a stroke center, providing exceptional care to our community.
Duties include but not limited to general surgical pathology, cytopathology, clinical pathology, tumor board presentations and other teaching responsibilities
- Interpretation/sign-out of surgical pathology specimens
- Cytopathology
- Hematopathology
- Frozen sections
- Specimen grossing if needed
- Conferences/tumor board
- Ordering/interpretation of appropriate immunohistochemical stains and special stains
- Participate in other clinical activities as requested by Laboratory Director
Qualifications:
- Hold a New York State Medical License or eligible for New York State licensure.
- AP/CP Board certified or board eligible.
- Any subspecialty training is welcome
