Position Overview
SSS Academies is seeking a motivated, energetic, and student-focused Education Aide with sports and athletic experience to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with youth, supporting academic achievement, and using athletics as a tool to build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills.
The Education Aide will work closely with teachers, coaches, and students to provide academic support during the school day while assisting with athletic programming, physical activities, and student engagement initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as a positive role model, helping students succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities Academic Support
- Assist teachers in implementing classroom lessons and educational activities.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support in core subjects.
- Reinforce classroom expectations and promote positive student behavior.
- Support students with organization, study skills, and classroom participation.
- Assist with classroom preparation, instructional materials, and daily learning activities.
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers and staff.
Athletic & Student Development Support
- Assist with sports programs, physical education activities, and recreational events.
- Help supervise students during athletic practices, games, fitness activities, and enrichment programs.
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal responsibility.
- Support student wellness initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity.
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model for students both on and off the field.
- Help organize athletic equipment, activity spaces, and event logistics.
Student Engagement
- Build positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff.
- Support social-emotional learning and character development programs.
- Assist students in developing confidence, self-discipline, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment where all students feel valued and motivated to succeed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational, coaching, mentoring, childcare, or recreational setting.
- Athletic, coaching, sports instruction, or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Passion for youth development, education, and athletics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and positively engage students from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated patience, professionalism, and flexibility.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, coaches, and school staff.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
- High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework in Education, Sports Management, Kinesiology, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
