Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Engineer / Security Designer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled LMR Engineer / Security Designer to lead the technical design and execution of complex physical security and low-voltage projects. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring all designs meet industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory codes while overseeing project delivery from concept through completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced systems engineer with strong project management capabilities and deep knowledge of physical security technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and documentation.
- Track project progress, identify risks, and implement proactive solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage project resources and budgets efficiently.
- Lead project closeouts and capture lessons learned.
Technical Design & Engineering
- Lead the design of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and physical security systems.
- Review, approve, and produce design packages (CAD/BlueBeam).
- Ensure all designs comply with federal, state, and local codes (e.g., NFPA).
- Oversee equipment selection, procurement recommendations, and system integration.
- Apply security standards and design best practices across all project phases.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Participate in weekly stakeholder meetings and provide clear technical updates.
- Conduct monthly progress reviews with leadership and client teams.
- Address client concerns with professionalism and timely resolution.
Team Leadership & Quality Assurance
- Mentor junior team members and support team development.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
- Implement quality control processes and perform regular QC reviews.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet internal and external quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in physical security, LMR, or low-voltage systems engineering.
- Strong technical understanding of ACS, CCTV, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems.
- Knowledge of life safety, fire codes, and related federal/state/local regulations.
- Proficiency with CAD, BlueBeam, SmartSheets, and Google Suite.
- Strong communication, client-facing, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as iBwave, PMP, CPP, CSPM.
- Familiarity with LEED, CPTED, and construction/facility management projects.
- Experience leading design teams within engineering or security environments.
