Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for government contract programs while ensuring adherence to FAR/DFARS and organizational policies.
- Oversee the purchase order lifecycle from requisition to receipt, including expediting, discrepancy resolution, and supplier performance management.
- Leverage manufacturing knowledge to communicate technical requirements with suppliers and collaborate with internal stakeholders such as engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules; maintain accurate procurement records and support compliance documentation and audit readiness.
- Previous experience in tactical buying/procurement within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Background in government contract procurement with working knowledge of FAR/DFARS requirements.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with the ability to interpret and apply U.S. government regulations, company policies, and business standards including SOX compliance.
- Ability to write price reasonableness determinations and price analyses; skilled in supporting negotiations and understanding engineering data such as specifications, drawings, and statements of work.
