Job Summary: We are seeking a Pattern Engineer to support apparel development from initial concept through commercialization and production. Our team is looking for a technical professional who can translate design intent into accurate patterns, refine fit, and help ensure styles move through development on time and with strong construction standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design, product management, materials, quality, color, and manufacturing partners to translate concepts into 2-dimensional patterns.
- Create first models from concept images and incorporate styling and fit changes throughout the development process.
- Lead fit sessions, inspect and critique samples, and write clear fit comments and notes to guide revisions.
- Develop and revise product specifications, construction details, and tech packs to support production readiness and on-time delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in apparel design, textile science, or a related field, or equivalent product creation experience.
- 8 years of technical design experience in the apparel industry, including the apparel development process from inception through production.
- Experience in pattern design for factory production with hardwovens, denim, twill, jackets, fixed waistbands, and similar apparel categories.
- Experience leading fit sessions, writing fit comments and notes, and providing technical pattern design examples in a portfolio; jackets or pants patterns are ideal, with lifestyle apparel preferred.
- Proficiency with PCX and CLO.
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, CAD Pattern Design software such as Optitex, and 3D software such as Clo or Browzwear is highly desired.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, and project management skills with the ability to work with factory vendors and manage multiple projects.
