Manufacturing / Process Engineer
Location: Toledo, Ohio
Working pattern: On-site, Monday to Friday
SR2 is partnering with an exciting client in the automotive manufacturing sector to find a Manufacturing / Process Engineer to support high-volume production operations and continuous improvement activity at site.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting manufacturing operations through process development, implementation, and improvement
- Assisting with manufacturing station design, layout development, and process optimisation
- Using CAD and engineering tools to support production and engineering activities
- Reviewing engineering changes and assessing impact on tooling, manpower, materials, and facility requirements
- Supporting production launches, including process validation and line readiness
- Investigating manufacturing issues and leading structured root cause analysis using tools such as 8D and 5-Why
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Monitoring production and quality performance metrics and implementing corrective actions
- Supporting product and process audits while maintaining compliance with quality standards and procedures
- Working alongside manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve production issues
- Providing clear technical updates to leadership and project stakeholders
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- Around 2–5 years’ experience in automotive or other high-volume manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting manufacturing processes, production operations, or engineering changes
- Strong problem-solving capability with experience using 8D, root cause analysis, or similar methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering documentation, and process documentation
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Experience with manufacturing station design and CAD tools
- Experience working within Quality Management Systems in an automotive setting
Nice to have
- Bachelors (Or higher) in Engineering
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- Experience supporting manufacturing launch activity
- Global or cross-functional project exposure
- Additional language skills
