Seeking a highly skilled Education Law Attorney to provide legal counsel and representation on matters impacting public and private educational institutions. This role supports compliance, dispute resolution, policy development, and risk mitigation across a broad range of education‑related legal issues. The ideal candidate brings strong subject‑matter expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to advising leadership and stakeholders in dynamic academic environments.
Schedule: This is a hybrid role with 4 days per week onsite.
Compensation: $115,000 to $150,000, dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Due diligence for site acquisition/leasing and permitting
- School site lease negotiations
- Construction contract review
- Borrower’s counsel in financing transactions
- Charter issues, from application to appeals, including termination, renewal, non-renewal and state and federal funding
- Advise educational leadership on policy development, governance, and risk management
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, policies, and regulatory filings
- Represent educational entities in administrative hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation when required
- Conduct internal investigations and respond to complaints involving students, parents, faculty, or staff
- Support labor and employment matters within educational settings, including collective bargaining and employee discipline
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active FL bar license
- Demonstrated civil litigation experience
- Strong interest in education law
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with non‑legal stakeholders in educational environments
