POSITION SUMMARYAn Industrial Painter prepares, paints, and finishes signs and related components using various
painting techniques, tools, and materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming materials
• Mix paints, coatings, and finishes to achieve required colors and textures
• Apply paint using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other equipment
• Paint metal, plastic, wood, acrylic, and other sign materials
• Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and defects
• Maintain paint booths, spray equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition
• Follow production schedules and meet project deadlines
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and design specifications
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of hazardous materials
• Assist with sign assembly or finishing tasks as needed
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of paint booth equipment, spray guns, filters, and

ovens

REQUIREMENTS SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with commercial painting, manufacturing or automotive painting
• Experience using spray equipment, orbital sanders, grinders, or finishing tools
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Ability to read tape measures and drawings/blueprints
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Good attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials up to 50 pounds (lbs)
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, manual dexterity, and reach overhead
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights greater than six feet
• Ability to tolerate repetitive motions
• Ability to pass respiratory medical clearance and respirator fit testing

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous forklift and/or crane experience
• OSHA 10 certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work performed in a manufacturing and fabrication facility
• Ability to perform duties in a paint booth setting with exposure to paint fumes, chemicals, and

industrial equipment

• Environment may be dusty, noisy, and non-temperature controlled
• Exposure to adhesives, chemicals, and fabrication equipment
• Exposure to heat conditions during the curing process
• Environment containing flammable products
• Exposure to electrical components
• Use of PPE including safety shoes, respirator, and safety glasses required
• Additional PPE, including a face shield, gloves, and an apron, is required when mixing or

transferring chemicals

• Other required PPE as needed- gloves for material handling or hard hat for crane operations
