Estimator

SUMMARYThe Estimator is responsible for creating accurate and competitive cost estimates for sheet metal fabrication and CNC-machined components and assemblies. This role partners closely with engineering, production, and sales teams to evaluate drawings, materials, labor, and machining processes to support successful project execution. This position offers exposure to complex manufacturing projects and the opportunity to directly influence pricing strategy and operational efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIESReview customer drawings, specifications, and RFQs to determine manufacturing requirements and cost drivers.Prepare detailed cost estimates for sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining, including materials, labor, machine time, tooling, and outside processing.Analyze bills of materials, routings, and production methods to ensure pricing accuracy and feasibility.Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative processes.Develop and maintain estimating models, pricing templates, and historical cost data.Support sales and leadership by providing timely quote responses and clarifying scope, assumptions, and risks.Participate in project handoffs to ensure alignment between quoted work and production execution.Continuously improve estimating accuracy by comparing quoted costs to actual job performance. QUALIFICATIONSExperience estimating sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining projects in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of fabrication processes, machining methods, materials, and manufacturing workflows.Ability to interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and engineering documentation.Proficiency with estimating software, ERP systems, and standard business tools.Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.Ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines in a fast-paced setting. BENEFITSDirect impact on business success through ownership of pricing and project strategy.Exposure to advanced manufacturing processes and complex custom projects.Opportunities to collaborate with experienced engineering and production professionals.Stable role within a growing manufacturing environment with long-term career potential.Competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support professional growth and work-life balance.Company DescriptionWith over thirty-five years of Recruiting, Staffing and HR Consulting experience providing nationwide service to many of the largest organizations in the country, Spectrum has achieved a level of experience and expertise that benefits our clients, candidates and contractors. Salary : $80,000 - $83,000
