We are seeking a Supply Chain / Rail Transport Specialist to support day-to-day logistics and ERP operations within a fast-paced environment. This 4–6 month contract role focuses on railcar coordination, inventory accuracy, and cross-functional supply chain execution. The ideal candidate will have strong SAP experience and direct exposure to rail transportation, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure timely movement of materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter, maintain, and update transactional data within ERP systems to ensure inventory and financial accuracy.
- Coordinate with warehouses, suppliers, and internal teams to obtain documentation and close transactions in a timely manner.
- Review and process bills of lading (BOL), invoices, and related documentation to support supply chain operations.
- Generate purchase orders and assist with transfer orders and delivery coordination.
- Arrange transportation and delivery of materials to storage and production sites.
- Monitor ERP data to identify and resolve aged or incomplete transactions.
- Support inventory reconciliation and period-end close activities.
- Track and manage railcar movements, including in-transit status, ETAs, releases, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of railcar fleet data, locations, and product status.
- Coordinate railcar cleaning, release timelines, and maintenance activities.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to align railcar availability with production needs.
- Manage stock transfer orders (STOs), including shipment coordination and posting of goods issue/receipt.
- Monitor shipment progress and communicate updates across internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting on shipment status, inventory levels, and supply metrics.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to review logistics performance and operational needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 4 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation.
- Direct experience with railcar logistics, rail transportation, or bulk shipment coordination required.
- Experience working within ERP systems; SAP strongly preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
