Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to play a key leadership role in guiding our organization’s financial strategy and operations. This position is central to ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance in all financial reporting while driving efficiency and innovation within our finance function. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in nonprofit financial management, GAAP standards, and regulatory compliance, while also serving as a collaborative partner to leadership and a mentor to the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, management, and oversight of organizational budgets to align with strategic goals.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial reports for leadership decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations, GAAP standards, and internal controls.
- Oversee the monthly close process, including reconciliations and preparation of financial statements, and present results to the CFO/CEO.
- Leverage financial software (Microsoft GP, Excel, PowerBI) to streamline reporting and analysis.
- Provide actionable financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to inform strategic planning and strengthen financial performance.
- Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop, implement, and refine financial policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Mentor and lead a team of finance professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrated success as a Financial Controller or senior finance professional in accounting or finance.
- Strong background in budgeting, reconciliations, balance sheet management, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft GP, advanced Excel, and financial reporting tools.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
