A rapidly growing, privately held company in the energy management space is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to join its leadership team. 🔑 What You’ll Do
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close
- Prepare and analyze accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, audits, tax filings, and internal controls
- Partner with senior leadership to deliver financial insights and support key decisions
- Improve and scale accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Manage and mentor a small, high-performing accounting team
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Optimize financial systems and reporting tools, including SQL-based data analysis
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and IT
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and process improvements
✅ What We’re Looking For
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 4 years in leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or Master’s preferred)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance, and internal controls
- Proven experience leading accounting operations and financial reporting
- Experience with financial systems and SQL-based tools (e.g., NetSuite, Great Plains, Zoho, MS Access)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Experience in a high-growth or energy/technology environment is a plus
