The Specialized Recruiting Group is partnering with a growing heavy civil contractor to hire an experienced Project Manager to oversee grading, utility, and site development projects throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.
This role is responsible for leading projects from pre-construction through closeout while ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with field operations, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of grading, utility, and site development projects.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, job costing, and financial performance.
- Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and material deliveries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, developers, and project stakeholders.
- Manage contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Monitor project quality, resolve field issues, and support safe jobsite operations.
- Utilize construction management software, including ERP systems, to manage project financials and reporting.
- Mentor junior team members and collaborate with field leadership to ensure project success.
Qualifications
- 5 years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction.
- Experience with grading, earthwork, underground utilities, or site development preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and job cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Experience with construction ERP software (Viewpoint Vista or similar) is a plus.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.
