Special School District (SSD) teacher assistants, also known as paraprofessionals, support students and teachers in special education classrooms throughout St. Louis County. Through your diligent care, supervision, and encouragement, you will serve as a valued member of an educational team focused on ensuring students have what they need to thrive and feel empowered. Teacher assistants work during school hours, Monday through Friday. The start and end times may vary depending on the building assignment.

Salary
- $22 to $38/hr. based on education and experience (2025-2026 salary range. Will be revised to 2026-2027 when available.)
Education Requirements
- Thirty-six hours of college credit with supporting transcripts or completion of the Frontline Substitute Teacher Training as approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Substitute Certification issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) required
