As a Production Intern with SpecChem, you will be part of a collaborative team supporting the production of concrete construction materials. This role provides a hands-on opportunity to learn about the manufacturing business lifecycle, including operations, production, shipping and receiving, and meeting production deadlines.
This position is in Kansas City, KS. Work hours are approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Day-to-day duties include:
- Package and stack finished manufactured product
- Clean and maintain assigned work areas
- Shut down equipment and follow lockout/tagout procedures as trained and appropriate to role
- Move production waste from assembly lines to designated dumpsters
- Operate strictly within established standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Perform quality checks to ensure:
- No damaged finished product is shipped
- Damaged raw materials are identified and reported
- Package finished products for shipping, including shrink wrapping, boxing, and labeling
- Lifting up to 40 pounds regularly
- Stage finished product for loading and shipment
- Wear proper PPE including steel toed boots
- Current high school or college student
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing/production environment
- Desire to learn and do quality work
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and respectful of others
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures consistently
- Accuracy and attention to detail are required
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills
