Overview of Role:
Sovah Health in Martinsville, VA, is seeking a RN to join our Cath Lab department. The RN will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and special procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations
- Assist in all procedures, providing patient education, assessment and monitoring, administering medications and participating in performance improvement activities
- Participate in Quality Assurance and practices Infection control policies
- Participate in an on-call schedule for STEMI interventions
Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Current RN licensure from the Virginia State Board of Nursing; Desired: Imaging, Interventional, and Therapeutic Environments Certification.
Required Skills:
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) & AHA ACLS required.
Work Environment:
This role requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Potential for exposure to communicable disease and/or body fluid which require the use of body substance isolation precautions.
