About the Role
Southwoods Health is seeking a Clinical Application Specialist to lead the education, support, and training for our clinical applications (including EHR). You will ensure all staff and physicians are proficient in clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, and system utilization to optimize patient care across all settings.
Essential Duties
- Training & Development: Create and deliver training plans (SOPs, videos, manuals) for new and existing staff using various teaching methods.
- System Optimization: Facilitate EHR customization (templates, favorites, and preferences) and manage enrollment for tools like Imprivata, Dr. First, and Dragon.
- Workflow Support: Ensure consistent clinical workflows across acute, ambulatory, and home care settings to maintain a unified medical record.
- Quality & Compliance: Develop education related to quality improvement initiatives and ensure all workflows adhere to TJC and CMS standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Use surveys, clinical scorecards, and rounding to monitor training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- System Testing: Conduct application testing during system updates and develop associated training materials.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operational teams to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into independent practice.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years in clinical healthcare and 1–3 years of EMR experience (Meditech preferred).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or active Ohio RN license preferred.
- Skills: 1–3 years of classroom teaching experience is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, web browsers, and project management.
- Attributes: Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and the ability to manage timelines in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule
- Full-Time: Monday – Friday (Day Shift).
