Purpose of the Position:
The Core Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the core shed facility, ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe handling of drill core samples. This role manages core cutting, storage, and data integrity processes to support the exploration and geology teams. The Core Operations Supervisor will coordinate core shed staff, maintain proper workflows, and uphold quality standards that directly support exploration, mine planning, and grade control activities.
Accountability:
The Core Operations Supervisor will train, schedule, oversee core shed projects, and collaborate with geology team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise, train, and schedule geological technicians in all movements, storage, and core cutting activities.
- Oversee receipt, organization, and secure storage of drill core, and samples.
- Ensure accurate core layout, orientation, and preparation for geologists.
- Coordinate and monitor core handling, cutting, scanning and sampling.
- Maintain quality control/quality assurance (QA/QC) protocols for sample handling and data recording.
- Ensure compliance with chainofcustody procedures for all geological samples.
- Track and maintain inventory of samples, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized core shed environment in compliance with MSHA and company safety standards.
- Oversee equipment use and coordinate upkeep.
- Collaborate with geologists to support core logging, core scanning, core preservation, photography, and data collection.
- Provide regular reports on core operations productivity, sampling progress, and staff performance.
- Assist with continuous improvement of processes, efficiency, and safety practices.

Knowledge/Education:
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or associate degree in geology, mining, or related field preferred.
- 35 years’ experience in mineral exploration, core shed operations, or geological sampling, preferred.
- Prior supervisory or lead experience in a mining or industrial setting strongly preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:
- Strong understanding of core handling, sampling protocols, and assay QA/QC practices.
- Familiarity with MSHA regulations and mine site safety practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database entry.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to train and mentor staff, while enforcing standards and safety procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.

Work Schedule and Personal Protective Equipment:
The incumbent is expected to work a rotating 7/7 schedule. Schedules are subject to change in accordance with the needs of the company. Personal Protective Equipment required for the field work portion of this position includes, but is not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots. All equipment must be MSHA approved as applicable
