Supporting the Audio Department is the core function of the following positions, which ensures seamless operation of audio equipment for all productions including installation and performance runs.
- FOH Audio Technician: Contracts begin late April and end mid-October.
- Wireless Microphone Technician: Contracts begin late April and end mid-October.
**Essential Functions**
- FOH Audio Engineer:
- Responsible for setup, operation and changeover during rehearsals and performances for Something Rotten.
- Collaborates closely with designers to implement artistic visions.
- Show duties include line by line mixing of actors and/or orchestra, and act as the point of contact for audio.
- Responsible for system setup, on/offstage monitors, intercom, and video monitors.
- The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with proven experience in professional theatre who displays a great deal of creativeness in problem solving and troubleshooting.
- Wireless Microphone Technician:
- The position works in conjunction with the FOH engineers and designer for set up and use of microphones.
- Show duties include placing/monitoring/maintaining wireless microphones, and upholding the artistic vision of the shows.
- Responsible for setup, operation and changeover during rehearsals and performances, RF frequency coordination, element rig creation, element placement, maintenance and repair of Ethernet & antenna cables.
- Assists with setup and maintenance of backstage, intercom, audio and video monitors.
FOH Audio Technician
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of various equipment typical of a modern sound system including large format digital consoles, AoIP including Dante protocol, Shure Axient and frequency coordination.
- Proficient with Windows and Mac OS, QLab 5, Networking including switching/routing, insight & Wireless Workbench, creating/interpreting system design paperwork.
- OSC/show control experience.
- Recording experienc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of various equipment typical of a modern sound system including Shure Axient, RF frequency coordination, AoIP including Dante protocol.
- Proficient with Windows and Mac OS
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSC/show control experience.
- Recording experience.
