We are seeking a motivated Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our team and help maintain the beauty and functionality of our campus grounds. Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, and fertilizing to keep grounds vibrant and healthy.
- Operate irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules for all turf and plant beds.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as edging, pruning, aerating, and equipment repairs.
- Maintain athletic fields by leveling surfaces, installing turf or field markings, and ensuring optimal playing conditions.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting, chainsaw operation, and equipment transport using company vehicles.
- Manage pesticide applications following safety protocols to control pests while protecting the environment.
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds equipment for maintenance needs and perform minor repairs as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in irrigation systems management and landscape maintenance.
- Familiarity with athletic field groundskeeping techniques and golf course groundskeeping is a plus.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, chainsaws, and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of pesticide management practices adhering to safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles or similar machinery.
- Strong understanding of power tool safety procedures and equipment maintenance routines.
- Horticulture or landscaping background preferred; enthusiasm for gardening and outdoor work essential.
