We are seeking a motivated Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our team and help maintain the beauty and functionality of our campus grounds. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, ensuring our athletic fields, landscapes, and outdoor facilities are safe, attractive, and well-kept. The ideal candidate will bring energy, attention to detail, and a passion for groundskeeping to support our mission of developing well-rounded leaders.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, and fertilizing to keep grounds vibrant and healthy.
• Operate irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules for all turf and plant beds.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as edging, pruning, aerating, and equipment repairs.
• Maintain athletic fields by leveling surfaces, installing turf or field markings, and ensuring optimal playing conditions.
• Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting, chainsaw operation, and equipment transport using company vehicles.
• Manage pesticide applications following safety protocols to control pests while protecting the environment.
• Conduct routine inspections of grounds equipment for maintenance needs and perform minor repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in irrigation systems management and landscape maintenance.
• Familiarity with athletic field groundskeeping techniques and golf course groundskeeping is a plus.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, chainsaws, and grounds maintenance equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of pesticide management practices adhering to safety standards.
• Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles or similar machinery.
• Strong understanding of power tool safety procedures and equipment maintenance routines.
• Horticulture or landscaping background preferred; enthusiasm for gardening and outdoor work essential.
