We are seeking a motivated and energetic Prep Cook/Server to join our dynamic team. This vital role combines food preparation, meal service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the cooking of meals according to established recipes and safety standards
- Serve meals efficiently and courteously to cadets and staff during designated dining hours
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Operate kitchen appliances such as ovens, slicers, mixers, and dishwashers safely and effectively
- Follow food safety management practices including proper food handling, storage, and temperature controls
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming meals and special dietary needs
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth meal production and timely service
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
- Demonstrated food preparation and cooking skills with knowledge of culinary techniques including knife skills and slicing methods
- Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely in accordance with safety standards in production
- Experience in food handling, food safety management, and adhering to recipe guidelines
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and serve customers professionally
- Background in restaurant or food industry environments is advantageous
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety at all times
- Catering or serving experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for teamwork is essential
