What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Southern Nevada Joint Management Culinary & Bartenders Training Fund?
General Description:
The Accountant I position is responsible for supporting the Finance Department with various functions such as A/R and A/P functions, data entry for month-end close, month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, and other administrative tasks as required by the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas (CALV) Guidelines and Government Regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Review the A/R aging report for accuracy, including processing invoices and deposits.
- Prepare daily revenue and cash journal entries.
- Reconcile revenue data from POS system.
- Bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare gratuities and tips processing, reconciliation, and distribution
- Payroll processing, assist with bi-weekly payroll processing
- Assist A/P with posting invoices, cutting checks, and reviewing A/P aging for accuracy
- Assist with month-end closing and prepare month-end financial reports for management
- Prepare schedules and associated documentation for grant reporting
- Prepare 401(k), health, pension, and Union Dues reports for submission
- Prepare periodic reporting for submission to governmental agencies (i.e., BLS, Licenses)
- Ensure compliance with financial record retention policies
- Demonstrates proficiency in Acumatica for data entry, reporting, and system navigation.
- Report irregularities and non-compliant situations to the Accounting Manager as required by corporate guidelines.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a field related to the work, AND one (1) to three (3) years of finance or accounting experience.
Experience and Education Substitutions:
- Any degree, diploma, high school equivalent, or course hours required to meet minimum qualifications must be obtained from an accredited educational institution.

Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
