POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accountant is responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, reviewing the general ledger accounts and preparing month-end close procedures. Duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Assist the Controller and Accounting Manager with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting/ Finance Department.
- Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer's benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Review and analyze revenues both gaming and non-gaming to ensure accurate reporting.
- Reconciling and balancing of ATM's and Kiosks. Ensuring proper reimbursement and commission from the vendor.
- Reconciling and balancing intercompany accounts, when needed.
- Assist with reconciling the AMEX statement.
- Prepare month end journal entries required for the close process to produce timely and accurate financial statements.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts using Blackline Systems reconciliation software.
- Performs all other job-related duties as assigned for the success of the department and property.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good record-keeping.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, especially Excel).
- Must be a team player and be able to collaborate with other teams in the organization.
- Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends. Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs.
- Minimum age requirement is 21.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Gaming Registration.
- Must have a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must have strong and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Manual dexterity to access the computer keyboard and operate office equipment.
- Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Follow all safety procedures as established by the company.
