Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmacy operations, particularly in Long-Term Care (LTC) and hospital settings. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications to patients, while providing exceptional patient service and care.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and pharmacy regulations.
- Provide excellent patient service by answering inquiries and addressing concerns related to medications and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in acute care settings to support patient intake and medication administration processes.
- Monitor inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care are met.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required, with a preference for candidates with LTC pharmacy or hospital experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and critical care practices is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and IV infusion preparation.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient service and care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
