Qualifications:
A Kentucky professional certificate for school administration and supervision.
Position Summary and Goal:
Provides instructional leadership to staff including curriculum planning and professional development. Responsible for day to day building administration and the safety and welfare of students, staff and activities. Ensures a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere, provides discipline when necessary and enforces school policy.

Performance Responsibilities:
- Administers and supervises the educational programs of the school, to include the development, revision and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to school.
- Provides for appropriate supervision of students at all times.
- Maintains standards of student conduct as designed by the school council, and enforces discipline consistent with due process rights of the students.
- Assumes responsibility for the maintenance, safety and operation of the school building and grounds, including emergency preparedness, evacuation and crisis plans.
- Supervises the efficient and accurate maintenance of all required records and reports.
- Prepares the budget for both SBDM and internal funds, in collaboration with the SBDM council, and monitors the expenditure of funds.
- Abides by the Professional Code of Ethics for Kentucky Certified School Personnel.
- Meets the Standards and Indicators set forth in the Certified Personnel Evaluation Plan.
- Recommend, in consultation with the school council, the hiring and assigning of all members of the school staff.
- Develops and maintains positive community relations.
- Plan, supervise and evaluate the extracurricular program of the school.
- Keeps the superintendent informed of the school’s successes, activities and issues.
- Adheres to the requirements of the District and school employee handbook, Glasgow Board of Education Policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Performs any other functions deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor that are reasonable and covered by local board policy or law.
