Performance Responsibilities:
- Promote the success of every student by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by all stakeholders.
- Promote the success of every student by advocating, nurturing and sustaining a school climate and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.
- Promote the success of every student by ensuring management of the organization, operation, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
- Promote the success of every student by collaborating with faculty and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs and mobilizing community resources.
- Promote the success of every student by acting with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner.
- Promote the success of every student by understanding, responding to, and influencing the political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context.
- Provide professional leadership within the school, community, and education profession to improve student learning and well-being.
- Serve as an instructional team leader.
- Communicate clearly with all stakeholders.
- Report any unusual occurrence or event to the principal and/or proper authorities immediately (bomb threat, thefts, child abuse, harassment, etc.)
- Assist in implementing the school improvement plan as directed by the principal.
- Enforce the school’s discipline plan.
- Administer student discipline.
- Evaluate faculty and classified staff by accurately administering the certified and classified evaluation plans as directed by the principal.
- Participate in professional development activities as directed by the principal.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff.
- Adhere to the professional Codes of Ethics adopted by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board.
- Administer health services to students as necessary including, but not limited to, the administration of medication; the operation, maintenance, or health care through the use of medical equipment; or the administration of clinical procedures.
- Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations by interacting effectively with and demonstrating respect for the views, rights and contributions of parents, teachers and other school personnel.
- Maintain appropriate professional appearance.
- Act as a consistent positive public relations agent for school and district programs and activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding individual students and their families.
- Implement and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies, administrative guidelines, and directives as adopted by the Board of Education, Principal, Administrative Staff, Superintendent and School Based Decision Making Council.
- Maintain acceptable personal attendance without repeated unexcused absences, tardiness, absences without notification, or abuse of sick leave.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
