Job Responsibilities
In the Lowcountry RPG-1 area, responsible for day-to-day management of the Charleston Area Transportation Study Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Berkley, Charleston, Dorchester Council of Government. Manages project delivery process for multiple projects, including scoping, schedules and budgets, for both in-house and consultant projects. Coordinates project-related issues with internal and external stakeholders. Evaluates options and determines appropriate path forward.
Manages public involvement process, including conducting public information meetings and public hearings. Prepares and delivers presentations to MPO, COG, and civic organizations. Manages consultant procurement process, including selection, scoping, cost estimating, and negotiation. Serves as point of contact for the consultant and provide oversight throughout project development.
Prepares correspondence and periodic (monthly) project/program updates, including monitoring and updating P2S and internet webpage. Acts on behalf of the Program Manager when necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and four (4) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
The physical demands for the essential functions involves sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time. This position may require occasional travel. May require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal business hours or respond to emergency situations.
