Our Client is seeking an experienced Inventory & Materials Management Professional to oversee inventory integrity, purchasing coordination, and material flow in a fast‑paced operations environment. This role plays a critical part in controlling costs, supporting maintenance and service teams, and ensuring accurate inventory, compliance, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory accuracy, restocking, and onsite spare parts management
- Process repairs, receive and stock materials, timestamp and track repair parts, and distribute components to technicians
- Control inventory and vendor‑supplied materials in alignment with departmental budgets
- Analyze inventory records and recommend changes to stock and reorder levels
- Process and fulfill requisitions; enter and maintain purchasing and stocking data in inventory systems
- Monitor stock levels, expedite late material orders, and follow up on past‑due purchase orders
- Maintain cross‑reference systems and track nonconforming or defective parts
- Partner with department leaders to ensure inventory spend remains within budget
- Resolve inventory discrepancies and participate in semi‑annual physical inventories
- Collaborate with Accounting and auditors to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance
- Source, evaluate, and manage vendors providing plant‑level services and materials
- Research hard‑to‑find or high‑cost parts in support of the purchasing team
- Recommend reduction, transfer, or disposal of slow‑moving and obsolete inventory
- Establish and support cost‑reduction initiatives and report results to leadership
- Assist customer service and operations teams with system‑based parts transactions
- Manage warranty claims with OEMs for defective components
- Prepare performance metrics and reports using standardized charting tools
- Ensure ISO compliance and adherence to quality, safety, and company standards
- Create and manage production and inventory schedules using computerized scheduling systems
- Take a leadership role in service and quality initiatives, driving continuous improvement
- Maintain inventory standards, process documentation, and materials requisition planning
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with technicians, customers, and leadership
- Solid mathematical and analytical skills, including inventory analysis and reporting
- Ability to interpret instructions, solve practical problems, and manage multiple variables
