Embedded Software Specialist
Our client is a prominent employee owned defense technology firm dedicated to solving high level national security issues through innovative engineering. They are currently seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join their specialized team in Healdsburg California.
In this role you will focus on the design and maintenance of gimbal sensor systems. You will be responsible for creating new features, addressing technical bugs, and performing comprehensive system testing using circuit boards and embedded processors. This position operates within a collaborative agile environment where you will work closely with hardware experts to deliver critical solutions on tight schedules.
Core Responsibilities
Develop and implement software features for sensor technology
Test and validate systems using embedded hardware and diagnostic tools
Engage in daily scrum meetings and agile sprints
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of engineers
Balance multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight
Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related Engineering field
Strong proficiency in C and embedded systems development
Experience working in a collaborative team environment or Scrum setting
Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and command line interfaces
US Citizenship is mandatory due to security requirements
Preferred Skills
Experience with Real Time Operating Systems
Background in cross platform development
Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI UART and I2C
Knowledge of multithreading networking and synchronization
Existing active security clearance
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is 90,000 to 110,000 dollars depending on background and professional experience.
