Program Manager – Corporate Insurance & Risk

A leading healthcare organisation is seeking an experienced Program Manager – Corporate Insurance & Risk to oversee enterprise insurance programmes, risk financing strategies, and claims administration. This role is responsible for protecting organisational assets through effective insurance management, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with legal, finance, and operational stakeholders.
The successful candidate will manage corporate insurance programmes, support contract risk management, oversee claims processes, and develop strategies that minimise financial and operational risk across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Insurance & Risk Management
- Manage corporate insurance programmes and alternative risk financing strategies to protect organisational assets.
- Coordinate the renewal, maintenance, and administration of corporate insurance policies.
- Review insurance coverage and recommend changes to align with evolving business operations and organisational risk.
- Manage relationships with insurance brokers, consultants, auditors, and underwriters.
- Negotiate insurance coverage and policy terms to maximise value while controlling premium costs.
- Develop proactive risk financing strategies to minimise uninsured exposures and losses.
Claims Management
- Administer claims across multiple insurance lines, including general liability, property, cyber, employment practices, directors and officers, fiduciary, crime, pollution, and motor vehicle coverage.
- Coordinate timely claim notifications and manage claims throughout their lifecycle.
- Liaise with insurers to resolve claims efficiently and provide supporting documentation as required.
- Partner with Legal and Human Resources teams on litigation and employment-related claims.
Contract & Compliance Management
- Review insurance and indemnity provisions within commercial contracts and third-party agreements.
- Advise internal stakeholders on insurance requirements, certificates of insurance, policy coverage, and liability matters.
- Support affiliated entities with insurance procurement and risk management activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance requirements and external financing obligations.
Financial Management
- Prepare and manage the annual insurance budget.
- Monitor insurance expenditure against budget throughout the financial year.
- Analyse programme performance and recommend opportunities to improve cost efficiency and risk protection.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, or a related field.
- 6 years' experience in one or more of the following:
- Corporate Risk Management
- Property & Casualty Insurance
- Self-insured or captive insurance programmes
- Healthcare risk management
- Strong knowledge of insurance programme administration and claims management.
- Experience working with brokers, insurers, and external service providers.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or a related professional certification.
- Experience within healthcare administration or corporate legal environments.
- Knowledge of contract risk management and insurance compliance.
- Experience preparing insurance budgets and financial reporting.
