Financial Reporting Specialist

A leading organisation is seeking a Financial Reporting Specialist to join its Finance team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting or finance professional with expertise in financial reporting, consolidated accounting, budgeting, and external audit support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, supporting multi-entity reporting, ensuring compliance with banking covenants, and contributing to financial planning and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive financial reports using accounting and financial reporting systems.
- Develop and enhance automated reporting processes to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Support business units with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Perform financial analysis and variance reporting to support business decision-making.
Consolidated Financial Reporting
- Prepare consolidated financial statements across multiple legal entities and subsidiaries.
- Perform consolidation entries, including intercompany eliminations and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and consolidation principles.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across the organisation.
External Audit Support
- Support external auditors throughout the audit process.
- Prepare audit schedules, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Respond to audit requests and provide financial analysis and variance explanations.
- Assist in ensuring timely completion of audit requirements.
Banking Covenant Compliance
- Monitor compliance with banking covenant requirements.
- Calculate and track financial ratios and key performance metrics required under lending agreements.
- Prepare covenant compliance reports for financial institutions.
- Identify potential covenant risks and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation supporting covenant calculations and reporting.
General Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 5 years' experience in financial reporting, corporate accounting, or public accounting.
- Experience preparing consolidated financial statements across multiple entities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modelling.
- Experience using financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting systems.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with multi-entity accounting environments.
