Compliance Officer – Medicaid & Healthcare Regulatory

A leading healthcare organisation is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to oversee regulatory compliance, audit management, and risk governance activities for a state health plan operation.
This senior-level role will lead compliance strategy across Medicaid and Medicare programs, manage regulator relationships, oversee audits, and ensure adherence to federal and state healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all health plan compliance functions and regulatory activities
- Oversee compliance with Medicaid, Medicare SNP, and state contract requirements
- Manage relationships with state regulators and compliance agencies
- Serve as the primary contact for audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance meetings
- Lead enterprise risk management activities and business risk assessments
- Conduct internal compliance audits and oversee corrective action plans
- Ensure timely submission of regulatory and contractual deliverables
- Monitor compliance activities across vendors and subcontractors
- Partner with executive leadership on compliance strategy and governance
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and healthcare regulatory standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s preferred
- 7 years of compliance program management experience within Medicaid healthcare environments
- 5 years of experience working with healthcare regulatory agencies and audit processes
- Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience overseeing implementation of complex contract requirements
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Strong analytical, audit, and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of compliance and enterprise risk management experience
- Experience managing large-scale healthcare audits and corrective action programs
- Deep understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, CMS, and state regulatory requirements
