Advanced Analytics Modeler (Hybrid)
Location: Stevens Point, WI, USA (Hybrid)
A leading insurance organisation is seeking an Advanced Analytics Modeler to develop predictive models and advanced analytics solutions that support pricing, underwriting, sales, and claims strategies. This role combines statistical modelling, data engineering, and business collaboration to transform complex datasets into actionable insights that drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop advanced analytics solutions to improve pricing accuracy, operational efficiency, workflow optimisation, and business decision-making.
- Extract, query, and prepare data using SQL, Snowflake, Python, and other data management tools.
- Design and maintain data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, feature engineering, and predictive modelling.
- Build, validate, and deploy predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques including regression, generalized linear models (GLMs), gradient boosting, and neural networks.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives and ensure analytics solutions align with business needs.
- Create dashboards and visualisations using Tableau to communicate model performance, business insights, and key drivers.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, actuaries, and cross-functional teams to improve modelling approaches and share best practices.
- Monitor model performance, data quality, and ongoing effectiveness of deployed analytics solutions.
- Identify trends, opportunities, and business insights through advanced data analysis.
Requirements
- Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
- Approximately 2 years of experience in data science, predictive analytics, or statistical modelling.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience writing SQL queries and working with large datasets.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
- Strong understanding of predictive modelling techniques, statistical analysis, and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience building data visualisations using Tableau or similar BI tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of pricing, underwriting, claims, or risk analytics.
- Experience deploying predictive models into production environments.
- Familiarity with data validation, model governance, and model monitoring best practices.
