Soni has partnered with a large manufacturing client near Portland, OR, seeking a Finance Manager to oversee financial management, reporting, and analysis across multiple entities. This role ensures accuracy in consolidated financials, supports strategic decision-making, drives process improvements, and upholds strong internal controls.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Develop, monitor, and analyze manufacturing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis.
- Support the annual budgeting and strategic planning process for manufacturing sites.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management:
- Oversee standard costing, bill of materials (BOM) accuracy, and cost roll processes.
- Ensure accurate valuation of inventory, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Analyze manufacturing variances, material usage, and labor efficiency.
- Support cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and physical inventory audits
Operational & Strategic Support:
- Partner with production, supply chain, and engineering teams to evaluate financial impacts of process changes, capital investments, and product cost structures.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve plant profitability and efficiency.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for plant performance.
Compliance & Controls:
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and financial regulations.
- Support internal and external audits related to manufacturing operations.
- Maintain compliance with corporate financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
Qualifications of the Finance Manager:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (MBA/CPA preferred).
- 7 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including 3 in manufacturing.
- Expertise in cost accounting, multi-entity operations, and ERP systems (NetSuite/Tableau a plus).
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication abilities.
Preferred: Experience with multi-site manufacturing, lean principles, and M&A integrations.
