Position Summary
As a member of the executive management team at the Richard Hall Community Health and Wellness Center, the Facility and Security Director ensures optimal implementation of County safety and security policies as well as creates Center specific policies to support Center needs. The incumbent reviews the Joint Commission, DMHAS and NJ-DOH licensing standards to verify the Center’s policies adhere to all requirements; develops and enforces procedures that minimize risk and ensure the safety of all present in the Center; Supervise all Security Guards; Coordinates all phases of transportation, safety and security and is responsible for all County assets within and other related duties as required by the Executive Director and Business and Operations Director; maintains and oversees Center grounds, buildings, engineering projects and equipment to ensure that the workplace is safe and functional. Duties include negotiating with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinating with County Engineering renovations and updates. Includes a 24-hour on call.
Essential Functions
- Maintain a secure, safe environment for clients, visitors, and staff.
- Supervise all guards employed by the Center to include preparation of semi-annual and annual performance evaluations, scheduling of guard personnel and management of contract guards.
- Determines the need for safety policies, procedures and standards and draft policy to present at PI.
- Routinely observe security and safety deficiencies and arrange for corrective action and approves safety and risk control recommendations to be presented to the Center’s Executive management team.
- Coordinate all phases of safety and security education, i.e., in-service training, drills, inspections, etc.
- Responsible for control of all County assets within the Center, including assigned vehicles. Prepare and supervise all work orders for the facility.
- Collection and destruction of confidential data.
- Serves as the Chair of the Center Health and Safety committee, County Central Safety Committee, and other committees as needed.
- Routinely inspects the facility and prepares monthly report on findings.
- Assist in testing of emergency equipment and radios and determines scheduling of external and internal safety audits.
- Maintain various logs and reports for vehicles, key distribution and fire extinguishers and Center incident reports.
- Preparation of written reports on safety and security incidents at the Center.
- Transport priority correspondence to various agencies as needed.
- Delegating cleaning and maintenance tasks to contractors/staff.
- Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces.
- Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
- Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
- Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.
- Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions.
- Collaborating with F&S and Executive Management on budgeting for facility’s needs.
- Managing all facility construction projects.
- Oversee any landscape and or outside property projects.
- On-call 24/7 for any emergency or call in for a facility emergency
- Long- and Short-term facility planning.
- Yearly Training on Crisis De-escalation.
- Managing ligature assessments yearly.
- Record keeping for all facility/township documents & certifications.
- Assumes responsibilities and tasks of persons reporting to this position
- Expected to engage individuals served at the center and co-workers in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Values statement of the Center.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
- High School Graduate and 3-5 years of supervisory safety/security experience with preference in mental/medical health care setting.
- Strong observation, de-escalation, and negotiation skills.
- Possession of a Valid NJ driver’s license in good standing.
- CPR Certified by American Red Cross, American Heart Association and National Safety Council.
- Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.\
- Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions to facilities management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
