An experienced Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) is sought to provide exceptional care for patients boarded in the Emergency Room (ER) holding unit within a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting. This travel position, located in Richmond Hill, GA, requires a dynamic professional with strong clinical skills and previous travel assignment experience to start immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, and critical care conditions.
- Manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5, adjusting assignments based on acuity.
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring using Spacelabs telemetry equipment; read and document EKG strips accurately.
- Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy team available 24/7; troubleshoot related equipment as needed.
- Coordinate with transport techs and imaging services for X-ray and CT scans within the ER.
- Participate in department-specific orientation during the first week.
- Adhere to dress code: navy scrubs.
- Work every other weekend and holidays based on department needs; no on-call or standby responsibilities.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Georgia or Compact RN license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years recent Progressive Care Unit or a combination of 1 year PCU with at least 1 year experience in Telemetry, ER, or ICU settings.
- Successful completion of at least one previous travel nursing assignment.
- Strong references from recent travel assignments.
- Compliance with 100-mile radius rule; must provide a valid driver’s license at submission.
