Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Kenner, Louisiana

A full-time opportunity is available for Teachers of the Visually Impaired to support students in the New Orleans, LA area under the Jefferson Parish School District. This contract position requires working 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday in accordance with the school calendar. The role involves itinerant teaching across multiple schools, with caseload details to be determined and serving various age groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and support for visually impaired students
• Deliver individualized educational programs tailored to each students needs
• Collaborate with district staff and families to enhance student learning outcomes

Qualifications And Experience

• Active Louisiana DOE teaching certification in the area of Visual Impairment (TVI) is required
• Experience working as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired preferred, with pay scale reflective of years of experience
• Must pass district-required drug screening and fingerprinting as part of the credentialing process
• Ability to manage an itinerant caseload and adapt to various school environments within the district
