Special Education Teacher - Mooresville, NC

A school in Mooresville, NC is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students with mild to moderate disabilities. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a single school building from ASAP until the end of the school year.

The position involves a caseload of approximately 25 students, primarily those with specific learning disabilities, along with some high-functioning autism and ADHD. The work schedule aligns with standard school hours, from 7:40 AM to 3:40 PM, providing a structured day that allows focus on supporting individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with specific learning disabilities, autism, and ADHD
• Manage and maintain detailed data collection to monitor student progress and outcomes
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently within a dynamic classroom environment
• Write and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Collaborate with onsite curriculum support staff to align instruction with educational standards
• Utilize knowledge of ECATS software for documentation and reporting (highly desirable)
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with mild to moderate disability caseloads
• Strong skills in data collection, organization, and multitasking
• Ability to write comprehensive and effective IEPs
• Familiarity with ECATS or similar educational data systems is a significant advantage
