A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Aurora, CO, with a contract through March 2, 2026, and the possibility of extension. This role requires a dedicated professional to support students in a school setting, delivering specialized instruction tailored to their unique needs.

Key Qualifications

  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education License with Generalist Endorsement (grades 5-21) is mandatory. Applicants must provide proof of licensure or valid application documentation with the correct endorsement.
  • Professional Teacher License must specifically read: Endorsed in Special Education Generalist (5-21).
  • Extensive knowledge of special education instructional practices, including Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) and alternative standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding and practical experience in the IEP process.
  • Strong collaboration skills to effectively work with IEP team members.
  • Candidates with temporary, substitute, interim, or provisional licenses are not eligible unless the proper SPED License endorsement application is already completed.

Location: Aurora, CO (Exact location within Aurora TBD)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized educational programs aligned with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student's educational goals.
  • Utilize instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress relative to alternative standards.
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to team decision-making.

Additional Details

  • Full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
  • In-person role; virtual or hybrid options are not available.
  • Immediate start with contract through early 2026.
