School Psychologist in Fairfield, CT

Key Qualifications And Skills

• Master's or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
• Current state licensure/certification as a School Psychologist
• Experience providing psychological assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention within K-12 settings
• Strong knowledge of IEPs, RTI/MTSS, and special education law
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing abilities
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and administration
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving needs throughout the school year
• Previous contract, travel, or substitute experience is a plus
  
  

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations for students
• Participate in the development and review of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Provide individual and group counseling services to support social-emotional learning
• Collaborate closely with school staff and families to address student challenges
• Deliver crisis intervention and prevention services as needed
• Offer consultative guidance to teachers on classroom interventions and accommodations
• Data collection, interpretation, and presentation for student progress monitoring
• Support successful implementation of RTI/MTSS and related initiatives
