School Behavior Specialist in Matthews, NC

This opportunity is ideal for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Behavior Technician (BT) seeking a full-time contract position in a supportive elementary school setting. The role involves providing behavior and routine support to a specialized classroom of approximately 12 children within a CBSS Specialized Setting Classroom, working alongside a teacher and two teaching assistants.

Location: Benton Heights Elementary, Monroe, NC

Contract Duration: ASAP through June 5, 2026

Work Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver overall behavior support and assist with classroom routines for elementary students
• Provide occasional one-on-one support as needed
• Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher and teaching assistants to maintain a positive learning environment
• Implement behavior intervention plans in alignment with individualized education goals
  
  

Qualifications

• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) license required; Behavior Technician experience also considered
• Prior experience working with children in behavior support roles preferred
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team supporting specialized educational needs
• Strong communication and observational skills to monitor and adapt behavior interventions
