Retail Pharmacy Technician in Greensburg, PA

A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a contract-to-hire role in Greensburg, PA. This position requires working Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a half-hour lunch break at 12:30 p.m. No weekend shifts are involved. The role caters to patients with complex medication regimens, often managing 8-15 medications daily. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a compassionate approach, especially when assisting patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, or multiple sclerosis.

Responsibilities include accurately preparing and dispensing medications using Pioneer Rx software (training provided if needed), counseling patients, and supporting pharmacy operations. This position serves a diverse patient population, primarily Medicare/Medicaid and low-income individuals, many of whom have low literacy levels. Candidates must be patient and empathetic, ensuring clear and supportive interactions.

Desired Qualifications And Experience

• Previous retail or specialty pharmacy technician experience is highly preferred.
• Strong familiarity with top 200-400 retail medications.
