Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students across a vibrant district community! This part-time opportunity focuses on providing expertise as a school-based Occupational Therapist from August 2026 through June 2027. With a flexible 2-3 day schedule (covering Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one additional weekday), you'll have the chance to make a meaningful difference every week supporting learners ranging from preschool through the 18-22 transition program.

Bring your background in school-based occupational therapy and collaborate with an inclusive team to foster students’ independence, improve their access to educational environments, and help young people thrive throughout their educational journeys.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license for the state of Connecticut
  • Demonstrated previous experience working as an OT in school settings
  • Familiarity with a variety of student ages—including early childhood, elementary, and young adult transition programs
  • Ability to assess, plan, and implement evidence-based interventions individually and in small groups
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptability for working across multiple school sites and age groups within the district

Responsibilities

  • Complete OT evaluations and develop IEP-based intervention plans
  • Deliver targeted therapy supporting motor, sensory, and functional skills in classroom, group, and one-on-one settings
  • Engage in progress monitoring and document outcomes per district and legal guidelines
  • Provide consultative support and training to staff and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings and teamwork for student success, from preschool learners to those in transition programs
  • Foster positive relationships with students and support their engagement in school activities
