Social Worker | Providence, Rhode Island

A full-time social work position is available in a school setting in Providence, RI, offering a unique opportunity to support students’ social and emotional development. The role requires a state license (LMSW or LCSW) along with a school certification through RIDE, ensuring qualified professionals can provide essential support within the educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individual (1:1) and group social work services to students
• Facilitate social skills groups to enhance peer interaction and emotional regulation
• Collaborate with school staff to support students’ academic and behavioral needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all relevant guidelines and policies
• Engage with families and external agencies as needed to promote student well-being
  
  

Qualifications And Experience

• State license as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• School social work certification through RIDE
• Experience working with school-aged children in social work or counseling roles
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills tailored to a school environment
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  
  

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with hours from 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM, except Wednesdays which extend until 3:00 PM. The initial placement is at a Warren campus with a potential transfer to a Providence campus in the following school year, contingent on a successful fit. There may also be part-time summer work opportunities available.

This contract role is ideal for a social worker committed to fostering positive student outcomes through both individual support and group interventions.
