Qualifications And Experience
- Active Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) certification/license in California
- Minimum EIPA score of 4.0
- Previous K-12 interpreting experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently and adapt to diverse classroom environments
- Commitment to fostering inclusion and equitable access to learning for deaf/hard-of-hearing students
- Professional communication skills and the discretion to work one-on-one with students
- Provide real-time sign language interpretation to support a student’s classroom participation across subjects and activities
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure seamless communication and engagement for the student
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in student interactions and assignments
- Tailor interpreting approach to the student’s needs, adapting as necessary for various learning situations
